You are sooo right about that! Never too much of that... except maybe when one arm falls asleep from cuddling in the same position for too long... but I still think I would have to agree with you - no such thing as too much love!

Wow, absolutely awestriking... My fiance suggested getting married at St Peters on Mare Island and I was doubtful, but your imagery has really put a new perspective on it! I commend you for your excellent talent and work, this wedding looks so charming!

@Mark Bohrer: I'm a big fan of super-wide lenses. The more dramatic wide shots are with the 14mm 2.8. Be sure to check out the upper floors, where you can do a good photo-session even when lots of people are in the building. One more thing... please be sure to remind the bride to BRING HER ID! Lorena forgot hers, and it almost stopped the whole show! But her husband is a city firefighter, and his ID seemed to help with the county clerk.

Mark:
Thanks for showing me what to expect tomorrow. I'm shooting a wedding at City Hall as a favor to my wife's best friend. I'll probably use a 24-70mm f/2.8L for most of the shots, though I'll be bringing 16-35mm f/2.8L, 70-200mm f/2.8L IS and 50mm f/1.4 just in case. Also a couple 430EX speedlights with the ST-E2 remote trigger and some Lumiquest diffusion.
Didn't have time to scout the location as I normally would, so your pics give me some idea. Thanks!

While we're on the subject of Best Weddings of 2007 gallery now online at Expressive Photographics, Your wedding day will pass in a hectic blur. Finding the correct photographer to capture all the moments you will want to keep in mind - such as the bride's walk down the aisle, the father-daughter dance, the very best man's toast, and all the rest - is essential.

Hey Monica, Thanks for visiting my blog! Many of the pics are made with a Nikon 24-70mm f 2.8, and the super-wide angle shots were made with a 14mm 2.8 lens. The location is not actually a church, but the SF City Hall. It is on Van Ness, very near the opera house. You should go see it sometime, with your camera!
Lighting for most of the ceremony was available light. I did use on-camera fill, -2 exposure, for a few ceremony shots, but was preferring the results with available light at ISO 3200. The D700 image has almost no noticeable noise at ISO up to 3200. At 6400 it gets more significant, but still resembles something many photographers nowadays don't see much of - film grain! Still, I usually set 3200 as my upper limit with this camera. Last year, I photographed most of my events with a D3, and found that even the ISO 6400 images looked fantastic, with extremely little noise. High ISO shooting has changed my life, in very good ways!

Hello Mark!
Beautiful photos, I love the shallow depth of field in the portraits. What angle lens did you use for those shots inside the church? It looks like a really tall ceiling and it works so well with how round the wide lens and building. Did you use two strobes inside for those shots?
